What is CountOnX?
CountOnX is a math coach, not a generic chatbot. Show your work and it helps you identify the step where your reasoning changed, then retry the idea.
How is this different from just using a generic AI chatbot?
CountOnX separates what was observed in your work from the misconception it may suggest. It gives a focused coaching prompt, lets you retry, and only updates your learning record using application rules — not a free-form AI response.
Does CountOnX give me the answer right away?
When work provides enough evidence, CountOnX begins with the first reasoning step that appears to have changed the result and offers a hint or coaching question. It can still explain an answer, but CountOnX is designed to help you learn how to correct it.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. AI work checks are limited. The 16-question SAT Math diagnostic is free; SAT results, personalized practice, and progress tools require an SAT membership. See Pricing for details.
Which math courses can I use CountOnX for?
You can use CountOnX homework coaching for middle school math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics & Probability, and IB / advanced math. SAT Math is the only course that currently has a diagnostic, skill map, targeted question bank, and progress plan. Its original practice library is still growing.
What happens to my data and my child's data?
We only use your information to run the service — generating feedback, personalizing your learning plan, and recording progress evidence. We don't sell personal information or show third-party ads. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Can I ask a real teacher a question?
Yes. A teacher-question credit is required to start a new conversation. After you sign in, use the Ask a real teacher portal to send a private message and attach a photo of your work. Replies appear in that same private portal. It is not a live or emergency tutoring service.
